RC car pulls to one side? Five checks to straighten it
If the car drifts off line down a straight, something is uneven left to right: toe, ride height or steering centre. Check on a flat board, measure both steering turnbuckles, even up ride height and re-centre the servo horn.
Why it happens
A car runs straight only when both sides are set up the same. Trimming it straight on the radio hides the problem but leaves the car turning unevenly in each direction.
Check in this order
- Flat-board check. Both front tyres should touch with equal pressure on a flat surface.
- Steering turnbuckles. Measure both; they must be identical in length.
- Ride height. Even it up corner to corner with shims or collars.
- Servo centre. Re-centre the servo horn with radio trim at zero, rather than using trim to straighten the car.
- Bent parts. A bent arm, hub or driveshaft shows up as a pull. Swap sides to find it.

FAQ
Can I fix a pulling RC car with steering trim? It hides the symptom but not the cause. Fix toe and servo centre mechanically, then keep trim at zero.
Why does my RC car pull left? Most often uneven front toe or a servo horn that isn't centred. Measure both steering turnbuckles first.
Does uneven ride height make an RC car pull? Yes. Uneven corner heights change how weight sits on each tyre, which shows up as a pull.
